As a leading expert in prototyping, we invest not only in the latest technology and innovative ideas, but also in the people who have them – and as early on as possible. We give talented young people the chance to fully develop their creativity and potential through sponsorship. Our social engagement outside of our industry is also highly important. We want to have a positive influence on our society and the environment with a range of different projects.
Award for Social Commitment
“Partner with Heart” – a very special award
In august 2025 we were honored by the Children’s and Youth Hospice of Central Germany with the “Partner with Heart” award. This distinction recognizes companies that have demonstrated long-standing commitment to hospice work. MODELLTECHNIK has been supporting the institution for ten years with an annual donation of €3,000.
The award ceremony took place at the company’s headquarters in Waltershausen. Marcus Köhler, representative of the hospice, emphasized: “MODELLTECHNIK is a reliable partner who supports our work in a remarkable way. Such sustainable help makes a real difference for many families.”
The importance of this partnership was also underlined internally. “What the hospice provides goes far beyond care – it creates a sense of security in a time that could hardly be more difficult for families. It is deeply important to us to help shape this environment and provide support where it is most needed,” said Janine Heß, Head of Marketing and Communications.

REACHING POLE POSITION TOGETHER
We are very fond of the students from Ilmenau University of Technology who set themselves the goal of developing racing cars for Formula Student so that they could compete against other university teams from all over the world in international competitions.
We support the 50 or so students who got involved – sharing our expertise in model making and a great deal of passion. We sponsor the materials for the models, such as the laminate for the chassis and the Ureol for the milling machine, and allow the students to use our tempering chamber. The project gives the students a wide range of opportunities to put what they have learnt into practice and to gain experience in interdisciplinary teams.

TAMBACH CHILDREN’S HOSPICE
THE SMALLEST ARE OUR BIGGEST PRIORITY
The children’s hospice around 20 km away in Tambach-Dietharz is a very special place and a very special project, which we have been wholeheartedly supporting since 2014.
It is a place where children and young people with a limited life expectancy, as well as their parents and relatives, can come to find strength and share their experiences. Marcus Köhler from the Tambach children’s hospice gave us a very warm welcome in December 2022. As well as our annual Christmas donation, we also gave them the biscuits from our Christmas baking campaign. We hope that we contributed a little to the festive feel in the run-up to Christmas.

READING MENTORSHIP AT REGELSCHULE WALTERSHAUSEN
SUPPORT FROM A TO Z.
As a regional provider of apprenticeships and training, delivering support and education to children and young people is something close to our hearts.
By taking on the reading mentorship for the school in Waltershausen, we are hoping to awaken a joy of reading and thus to encourage the children to expand their knowledge and foster critical thinking. These are key skills for their educational journeys and professional development.
The students at Regelschule Waltershausen are important to us because they are studying at our local school and will be the workers of the future. We want to encourage them and support them in their learning. After all, reading is the key skill for a successful future and essential for forming their own opinions. The students are welcome to come to us for work experience or get holiday jobs with us.

A body with class: We produced the master model for the body of the cult Evetta light electric vehicle on a 1:1 scale – with perfect milling and the finest surface finishing. Find out how.

The socket for the forest: We developed the prototypes for a type of powerbank for Stihl, which was put through its paces by forestry workers. A truly powerful project.
Aerospace
"Jena, we have no problem": Jena-Optronik commissioned MODELLTECHNIK to produce a 1:1 model of the Gateway Docking Port, which is needed for sensor tests in space applications.
Design
Timeless and dignified: Working with Samosa and our expertise in 3D printing, MODELLTECHNIK creates beautiful templates and design samples for individually designed funeral urns.
