Small-Batch Tooling

Small batch. High precision.

Small-batch tooling is the ideal solution when high-quality injection-molded parts are required in low to medium production volumes. MODELLTECHNIK designs and manufactures small-series injection molding tools that enable components to be produced in the original material, with near-series quality and a high level of process reliability.

This approach is cost-efficient, flexible, and perfectly suited for pre-series production, market launches, or function-critical applications.

What Is a Small-Batch Injection Molding Tool?

Cost-effective and flexible

A small-batch injection moulding tool is a mould designed for the cost-efficient production of low to medium quantities. It is used when parts are required in the original material and with near-series quality, but the investment in a full-scale production tool is not yet justified.

Small-series tools are engineered specifically for the required service life, making them more cost-effective, faster to manufacture, and highly adaptable. Changes to part design or functional details can be implemented much more easily than with conventional production tooling.

Typical applications include pre-series production, market launches, functional and assembly validation, as well as products with a limited lifecycle.

At MODELLTECHNIK, small-batch tooling is developed specifically for injection moulding to reflect real production conditions and provide a reliable basis for further product decisions — with a clear focus on prototyping and small-series manufacturing.
